Pretty Pops

Popsicles define summer. Also found in their definition is sticky hands, sticky furniture, stained shirts and wrappers and sticks scattered everywhere. No matter how messy, you must have a dozen or so on hand when the temperatures rise. Here's an idea I found for helping to minimize the mess:
Catch the drip of a melting Popsicle by cutting a small slit in the bottom of a cupcake liner and pulling the stick through. Whala! A drip catcher!
So next time it gets hot, have a popsicle with your kids and share this fun fact with them:
In 1905, eleven-year old Frank Epperson left a cup filled with powdered soda, water, and a stirring stick on his San Fransisco porch. That night, low temperatures caused the mixture to freeze...and a summertime staple was born. Today, two billion Popsicles are sold every year. The most popular flavor....cherry!
