A Christmas miracle took place tonight. After our wonderful choir sang to us, we headed outside to light our school Christmas Tree. A couple of days after we put up the lights, vandals unscrewed strands of lights and broke them on the ground. They also yanked down strings of lights from the tree. We decided that we weren't going to let that ruin our Christmas spirit. So over the past couple of days, we screwed new lights in, took broken ones out, restrung missing strands, and tested and then tested again our Christmas Tree lights. Here's where the miracle comes in.

The day started off with a morning performance from the
Kindergarten students and their Snowman Dance.
Then our fifth graders took the stage with their recorders.
The choir led the school in singing Christmas songs.
The evening performance came with "Buck" the talking deer,
greeting guests as they arrived.
The Hawk also threw on his winter wear and said hi to families as they came in.
After another very cute Snowman Dance the
choir performed again and the crowed joined
in on many favorite Christmas songs.

We then headed outside for cocoa and the
Christmas Lighting Countdown.
I was nervous as the countdown started....sure we had tested it several times, but you just never know. As the countdown came to number one...it happened. The lights popped on!
I love Valley View! The fact that we are 45 years old and have a beautiful pine tree to mark our history here is awesome. The fact that we have wonderful parents that volunteer from leading our choir, serving cocoa or stringing hundreds of Christmas lights, is amazing. And the fact that our students know that they have teachers and parents that are doing their best to help them become the best they can be every day is why
Valley View is still around after 45 years.

My kids had such a great time with Choir & love singing all the new songs they learn! The tree lighting was amazing & the kids thought it was one of the greatest things to be done at such an "old" school! Thanks for what you bring to the school...we love it all!
