Veterans Day

We had a wonderful Veterans Day assembly last Monday.  The week started with a display of drawings from grades K-3.  From flags to pictures of soldiers, it was a great way to honor Veterans.
The assembly began with Valley View scouts presenting the colors.  They did an awesome job!
Valley View's very own Ericka Wilcock sang a beautiful rendition of the Star Spangled Banner. The students cheered her on like a celebrity.
Corporal Austin Holt from Pleasant Grove and former Valley View student, spoke to the kids on why he decided to join the Marines and the importance of the Pledge of Allegiance.  He posed after for pictures with the winners of our essay and drawing contest.
Miss Nielsen was one of Austin's former teachers.
The assembly included essay readings from the students that won and a patriotic video presentation.  It was a great day!
We had wonderful art submitted by our students.  Here are the winning entries:
Thank you to everyone that participated in celebrating Veterans Day at Valley View.  Honoring Veterans has become a tradition that we look forward to every year!
